I have decided to purchase a home in 6 to 7 months from now and need advise on how I can save for fees related to purchasing a home. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to achieve this goal.

I bought a home in 3 months ago and it was not easy. All the banks and mortgage companies are being extra careful before giving any money out. It took a lot of planning on my part. I consolidated all my credit cards, got a second job and paid off my consolidated line of credit. I took my lunch to work 3 to 4 days a week instead of having lunch out every day. Disconnect my cable TV and applied the savings to my credit card as well. I hung out with friends doing events that did not cost and we now get together to have pot luck parties where every one brought a dish. I cut back in every category. With a second job and my saving on my cable bill, eclectic bills, lunch, dinner out, ride sharing, and getting a room mate. I was able to apply about 1,300.00 each month on my new line of credit debt. I had my debt completely paid off in almost two years. I use my income from my main job to save for a down payment on a home. I save enough to buy a home and have a 5 month nest egg. My roommate is currently renting from me. Thing are great
Hope this is helpful.

Wow! Those are great suggestions. I never thought about saving by cutting back on things like cutting cable and taking my lunch to work. I'm still not sure if this will net enough savings for me to save to buy a house, but I'm willing to give it a try.
